SEBASTIAN DERWISINSKI

I am adventurous, creative, enthusiastic digital media producer with background in theatre and culture studies. I am friendly artist producing video, digital photography and I am also familiar with customizing websites based on Joomla or Wordpress Templates. I am enthusiast of internet marketing and special effects in film. I studied in Institute of Literature, Film and Theatre in Poland for five years, where I received the Master Degree in Art. I continued my passion for media taking three years course in Video Production and Film Studies in London. My interest in creating media started when I was a child. Since then I have been developing my knowledge and skills. I believe this industry involves instant learning and growing and there are lots of things to cover if you want to be proficient in producing digital media and multi-skilled as I hope to be in the future. I keep up to date with recent technologies and practices. I have fair amount of experience producing different genres and styles of media. I have the biggest experience as a cinematographer, editor and producer. I have fair amount of experience in operating professional high definition video cameras like Sony HVR Z1 and Sony HVR A1. I worked in many short movies including such genres like:

- comedy (Drunken Monkey Millionaire), editor;
- film noir (The Last Cigar with The Turner Brothers), second camera operator;
- thriller (Playing with Evil: the game, which never ends), cinematographer, editor, special effects;
- drama (Forgiving Your PE Teacher), assistant producer;

I produced also short television documentaries about Polish community in London, music video for Big Brother’s star, experimental pieces, credits for television studio, web marketing commercials. I have experience in shooting travel videos from countries like Latvia, where I was living one year creating theatre entertainment for kids, Jamaica, Italy, Tunisia, Belgium, Germany and England, where I have been living nearly for five years now. I also deal with shooting and editing wedding videos for private customers. I produced corporate video for Princess Diana Awards Fashion Show and Love Entertainment Company and I did professional style fashion photography in one of top London’s nightlife spot. I’m studio owner. I use Sony HVR Z1 and HVR A1, high definition cameras for my film projects, Canon 450D for photos and the latest iMacs 2.8 Extreme. I am advanced user of Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, LiveType, Motion, Color, Compressor) and some of the latest Adobe Creative Suite 4 applications (especially After Effects CS4 and Adobe PhotoShop CS4). MARGARITA PIOTROWSKA

I have been practicing music since I was a child. I was particularly fascinated with music of Frederic Chopin.  His masterpieces inspired me to learn how to play the piano, but my teachers claimed that my hands are created for cello. My adventure with cello started, but at the same time I was trained to play my beloved instrument. Day by day the passion of composing was growing. Music is the language of soul. Music can express thoughts better then words and that is why I became so dedicated to music. 

After four years of attending music collage and learning how to play the cello I realized that public education has too much limits. I decided to develop my skills taking individual music training. I learned a lot from Professor Christopher Galant, who was the lute player. I started to play the Viola da Gamba in Professor’s Chamber Music Ensemble and I learned the rules of harmony. Music Ensemble was performing renaissance and baroque music in stylish costumes and on instruments made by my teacher, maestro di capella. We were performing with the Ensemble for eight years in many famous venues and noble events starting from concerts in the Witkacy’s Theatre in Zakopane, the Museum of Interior Courts in Ożarów to international business meetings and festivals.  I was making quick progress in technique of playing the Viola and so far I am one of the few people, who are still able to play such unique instrument in Europe. 

I have also experience in playing the guitar, performing own folk compositions on different festivals in Poland. The interests in performing folk songs lead me to intensive voice training with Professor Dariusz Grabowski  for one year and under the direction of Professor Monika Kolasa-Hladikowa for three years in Poland. I have also completed one year of vocal studies in Academia of Riga in Latvia. Since I completed all courses I got broad experience in soprano singing and I am skilled performer in vocal music. I was still interested in composing music. I moved to London and I started to study Music Composition at Thames Valley University. I learned how to use the latest digital technology and software. I am user of Mac computers and Logic Studio, which allows me to create soundtracks for the film and music for whole orchestra without any need to hire instruments or musicians. Apple’s software allowed me to get to know the sound of many world instruments and to experiment with them.  I am familiar with Sibelius 5, which allows me to notate my compositions. I am also interested in recording sounds and audio post production. In London College of Music I was attending the Chamber Choir conducted by Paul Ayres for two years. I also started to cooperate with choir performing Polish sacral music. Due to my in depth experience I am able to create music in different genres, styles using hundreds of different instruments from all round the world, so I am sure I am able to write music for your project, regardless if you need it for the website, feature film or radio advertisement. Exploring the huge library of virtual instruments and sound is the way of producing music in many different kinds and styles. Logic Pro is a very useful software for composers and producers. Recording, mixing and mastering music is possible on a very high level. It is possible also experimenting with existing loops and samples, changing them and individualizing preexisting tracks. I have been interested in producing music for few years. Sometimes it is difficult to find a performer playing the particular instrument. Logic helps me to cooperate with members of the huge orchestra without need of paying them money!
